About:
Sheli Turner
I am excited to be the first featured author for the independent publisher Zebert Press!
I write about people, race and place--and how causalities among these importantly define an individual's culture and value systems. I write about the imposition of culture and value systems upon character and empathy. I write about the manner in which empathy shapes "intentionality," and the journey of discovering and applying this simple, elegant truth as a choice made to heal and transform lives--as an individual and as a leader in a globally diverse society.
I write from a place of deep knowledge, sharing my experiences as a biracial woman born before the marriage of my parents was considered legal in the United States, using these as a catalyst for change.
Professionally, I have an extensive background in business and technology, first as a corporate executive and later as an entrepreneur. I've earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business, an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles, Anderson Graduate School of Management, and an Ed.D. in global education policy from the University of Southern California, Rossier School of Education. My research, and work as an administrator at a flagship US research institution, is focused specifically in the arena of "minoritized" stakeholder diversity leadership, agency and policy input.
